Things Fall About poem

A Sea of Misery
By Alexis Abel

The pressure; its immense
The walls are crumbling under it
The enormous dam cannot withhold it much longer
There has to be some way to preserve it
Without it the world would be a flood of vast confusion
A sea of misery

Cracks are emerging
Going deeper and deeper now
Into the concrete walls of my world
The water is rushing through
There is nothing to do now but face it
The wall came tumbling to the ground
And the water over came me
