Normal people, people unlike myself, enjoy their birthday. They enjoy the presents and attention. But not me, I dislike everything about the event. And, of course, everyone makes a big deal out of the whole thing. I am a very quiet person and I do not enjoy attention. Every year I try to convince my family and friends to ignore the day but they refuse.
I am like this with every holiday that involves receiving gifts. Christmas is the worst. I do not dislike the day for what it represents but for what it has turned into. It should be about being with the people you love, such as, family and friends. This year I will be in Mexico over Christmas break. I am very happy about this because I get to miss out on the festivities.
